Jo Ellen passed Octoer 24, 1980 following an extended illness.  She had suffered from cystic fibrosis. She was attending classes at Iowa Western Community College.  She was a volunteer worker at Dr. Lee Martin physical therapy center. 

She is survived by her parents Mr and Mrs Roy Vanderpool, four brothers, James, Roger, Max, and Clint, two sisters, Sandra Wood and Peggy Henley. Interment is at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
