Funeral Mass for Larry L. Hempel, 46, of Persia will be Wednesday at 10 a.m.
at St. Patrick's Church in Neola with the Revs. Dan Kirby and Michael Flecky
officiating. A lunch will follow in St. Patrick's Church Hall.

Mr. Hempel died of a heart attack March 3 at Alegent Health Community
Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley.

He was born Sept. 15, 1955, in Omaha. His adoptive parents are William and
Donna (Scott) Hempel. He previously lived in Council Bluffs, moving to Persia
four years ago. He was a 1974 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and
attended Iowa Western Community College. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He
was production supervisor for First Data Resources for the past 13 years.

Mr. Hempel and his wife, Elizabeth A. "Beth" (Flecky), were married 20 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four daughters, Kristen Hempel,
Tisa Hempel and Elizabeth Hempel all of Council Bluffs and Joanne Hempel of
Persia; parents, Bill and Donna Hempel of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Sheryl
Wilson and husband, David, of Longview, Texas, and Tina Weidner of Council
Bluffs; two brothers, Tarry Hempel and wife Jan, of Council Bluffs and
Kenneth Hempel of Fort Worth, Texas.
