Ernie died suddenly of a heart attack in June of 2006, a month after we turned 32. He did a lot while he was here. He was a marine for several years and during that time he was trained in computer security and networking. He used the skills he learned to make a successful career in the computer industry. He lived in the Presidential Towers in downtown Chicago. He left behind a wonderful, handsome, smart son who is now going on a full ride scholarship to an engineering school! He also left behind our parents and my other siblings, he is so sorely missed. He was a great brother and I will forever remember the great times we had growing up, especially at Southwood.
Ernest Eugene Parker III, June 16, age 32, late of Flossmoor and Chicago. Loving father of Drew; beloved son of Pat (Carney) Barr and Ernest (Gayle) Parker Jr.; dear brother of Patrice Parker, Candice (Daniel) DeJarlais, twin sister Melissa (Art Rivera) Parker and James (Jessica) Barr; cherished grandson of Catherine E. and the late James D. O'Connell and the late Winifred and Ernest E. Parker; fond uncle of Xavier, Alexis, Katherine and Daniel; best friend of Edward (Janice) Muncie III. As a youth Ernest was active with Cub Scouts, Little League and was an Altar server at St. Emeric Church. He played football at Rich Central and Homewood-Flossmoor High Schools and graduated from H-F High School (1990).
