I am posting information concerning Amelia with details provided by her sister-in-law, Janese Lucas Grady, my cousin by marriage. Amelia Manno Lucas passed away in January 2011 from stomach cancer. She had 2 children, Dan and Krista plus one grandson, Sam. She owned 2 skin care salons, one in Via Verde and the other in Glendora. Amelia enjoyed decorating her home and entertaining family and friends. When her daughter took an interest in horses she took lessons and learned to trail ride with her daughter. Amelia and Larry were married 40 years. She passed away in his arms within a few weeks after her 61st birthday party.
Amelia's sister Filomena (Phil) Manno Buckingham is a 1967 Covina High School graduate.
Thanks Susie for the information. I couldn’t believe she had passed away. At our 40th reunion in 2008 she looked fantastic. So young and vibrant. It’s so sad to hear that cancer has taken another one of our classmates lives. It’s just shocking. I remember her sister as well. I was at the 50th reunion for the Class of 1967 and I don’t think I saw her but their reunion was so big, at least 150, that I missed seeing a lot of people who were there.
