Mark Whatley, age 55, of Thomaston formerly of Covington passed away May 12, 2016.  He was born November 4, 1960 in Covington, Georgia and grew up in Oxford.  Mark was a graduate of Newton County High School.  He was preceded in death by his mother; Virginia Whatley and is survived by his father; Eugene Whatley of Wrightsville, his brother and sister-in-law; Mike and Billie Jean Whatley, his fiancée: Andrea Carr, his nephew; Fluff Whatley and numerous cousins and other family. 

Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 o’clock, Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Oxford Historical Cemetery with Reverend Joshua Roberts.  J.C.
