Paul Ellis, age 69, of Dahlonega, Georgia, formerly of Conyers, Georgia passed away Monday August 8, 2017.

Paul was born on September 8, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia to Betty and the late Charles Ellis. He was a graduate of Newton County High School, Class of 1965, and Georgia State College, Class of 1969, with a BBS in Management. He retired in 2009 after a 40 year career in the residential building industry.

Paul was a great family man, a loving husband, son, father, papa and friend. His passion was his grandchildren and their activities, Daytona Beach, Harleys, and Streetrods. He was of the Baptist faith.

Paul was preceded in death by his father and best friend, C.W. (Charles) Ellis. He was survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Jolley Ellis; his daughter, Dawn Pettit and her husband Joseph Pettit; his son, Jason Ellis and Jill Hewitt; grandchildren, Ilyssa Green and her husband Nick Green; Drayton Ellis and Kaiden Ellis; his mother, Betty Ellis; brother, David Ellis and sister-in-law, Elaine Ellis; niece Tiffany Ray and her husband Bobby Ray, nephew, Nick Ellis and his wife Ashley Ellis; great niece Sadie Ray and great nephews Jaxon Ray, Camden Ray and Maison Ellis.

Paul’s wishes were to be cremated and have a visitation only for family and friends. We will celebrate his life on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 5-8pm at Wheeler’s Funeral Home, Covington, Georgia.
