Charles Guy Parr     1947-2000

Charles Guy Parr (Charlie) passed away on August 22, 2000 after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer, one week shy of his 53rd birthday on August 28.

After his graduation from high school, he attended college (Middle Georgia College) for a semester and then joined the Air Force.  He served tours in Thailand and Vietnam.  Upon discharge, he joined the Air National Guard where he continued his instructor job. 

He met Leslie June House in Denver, CO and they were married there on May 5, 1973.  After 2 years in Denver, they moved to her home area in Arlington, NE where he worked in various businesses as a salesman, using his great gift of "People Skills".

He is survived by his wife, Leslie, and 3 children - Brooke Ellen (Perchal) born April 28, 1974, Jennifer Rebecca (Lachner) born June 11, 1976 and, Justin Charles Parr born August 23, 1978, and several grandchildren.

While living in Nebraska, he was an active volunteer fireman and EMT, Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star member, and served on many committees in the community and his church.  He taught Sunday School to his favorite age group......Junior High and followed them through their high school days as a friend and mentor.  He participated with many years of school sports as a helper and cheering from the sidelines.
