Ed & I knew each other from grade 1 to the end of his life. You couldn't have a better friend. He would come over to my place after school to help me with my chores so we could do something fun together. We did the girlfriend thing at the same time. I was working in Salmon Arm at the time and he would come from Surrey and Wade Nearing from Nelson as they wanted to "get to know" some of the girls I worked with at the bank. Plus the beach at Canoe made for lots of girl watching. Anyway, we all grew up eventually, he married Debbie and had two lovely girls. Ed always lived life to the fullest and that is how he ended his life, trying out a new horse he and Debbie were thinking of buying. He always had that great big smile on his face.
