Judy,

Grew up with you in grade school.  We had such great times and I always looked up to you and adored you.  I just read the obituary on the Cudahy 50 year reunion web site and am now in shock and depressed.  I was so looking forward to seeing you and our other Kosciuszko grade school classmatesColleen K. for one.  I know you two were close, and now can't wait to talk to Colleen to reminesce about us-all.

Loved You, Marty Mataya

Judy was one of my best friends throughout my school years.  I believe she moved to Cudahy in the summer between 2nd and 3rd grades.  That summer we met at Girl Scout Day Camp and then she attended Kosciuszko and CHS with me.  Maybe others may have also called her their best friend as she was voted the "Most Popular Girl" in our CHS senior class.  Although she was very smart, beautiful, and talented as a cheerleader and baton twirler she never became self centered.  She was a true friend to everyone.

Did you know that when she was in high school she traveled to Seatle and took first place in the world competition for baton twirling?  Yes, she was the top baton twirler in the WORLD.  The trophy she received was 6 feet tall.  The Milw. Journal published a picture of Judy jumping a perfect splits in front of her trophy and her waist was as high as the top of the 6 foot trophy.  I watched several of her baton competitions and she always out jumped the other contestants.

Our friendship did not stop after high school even though we both moved to different states.  We stayed in touch by frequent letters, telephone calls and managed face to face visits every 5-10 years.  I consider myself very lucky to have known Judy Wickman Moffitt and I miss her terribly.
