After my brief stay at Homestead, I went to private school in Mountain View... and even graduated with good grades (who knew?). Went to college down in San Diego - well, actually a couple - changed my mind a few times on what I wanted to do - but ended up getting a degree in graphic design. When I moved back to the bay area I worked at an advertising agency, then at a newspaper (getting them online back in '95), then a friend called and asked if I wanted a job at Apple... Yes, please.
Worked at Apple until '98, then left to work in the web development group at Intuit for about a year until Apple called & wanted me to come back - been here since, and have been managing a software engineering team since '04. It's definitely been a fun ride, and amazing to see how much the industry (and thankfully Apple's stock price) has changed in the past decade.
Have kept in contact with a few people from school, but since this site has been up have been able to reconnect with some old friends - very cool. |

- Cutting class to skate Fishbanks
- Taking a cab to Oakland freshman year to see The Cure with Keith & Erin
- Making use of the rec room in the apartment complex next to Homestead for afternoon refreshments
- Smiths concert with Rob ("James, who the hell are The Smiths?")
- A few of us each told our parents we were sleeping over at the other's house so we could stay out late... not thinking of where we'd actually sleep... ended up sleeping on the boat in Serra Park.
