Terry Crider

Terry "Woo" Crider died August 4, 1985 at 3 a.m. of injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 41 at Lake Rd. in Tunnel Hill. A tractor trailer truck was traveling northbound on Hwy 41 when Crider attempted to pull onto the highway from a driveway. The tractor trailer skidded 43 feet before striking the pick-up then traveled some 134 feet before coming to rest in a ditch. The pick-up truck was pushed by the tractor trailer to the right side of the road but separated upon reaching the ditch and overturned in front of the tractor trailer. Crider was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle. He died of massive head trauma en route to Hamilton Medical Center. Two passengers of the truck were admitted to the hospital with injuries: Brent Smith and Frank Ryan. Source: Dalton Citizen-News, August 5, 1985
