Welcome to the Danbury High Class Of 1970 web site.
The BIG 40th REUNION was held the first weekend of October 2010 at the Stony Hill Inn in Bethel, CT. If you didn't make it to our 40th, keep checking back here for info on our 45th!
I am a graduate of the DHS Class of 1967 and I grew up in Danbury and New Fairfield Connecticut. I work from home, in Wendell, NC, designing websites and I designed and take care of the websites for both the DHS Class of 1966 and DHS Class of 1967. I also send out monthly email newsletters to classmates. These websites and newsletters were very helpful in preparing for the 40th reunions of the 1966 and 1967 classes and I'm sure yours will be a big success also.
The key is to locate all of your missing classmates and get them excited about the BIG Reunion! So I need your help; please spread the word about the reunion and this website and let's get everyone involved!
You can also help by making a donation to help fund this website; right now the cost is coming out of my pocket! Please give as you can, every little bit helps.
The ball is in your park now...I will keep the website up and running with fresh information and send out email newsletters but it's up to you and your classmates furnish me with photos and information. It's your website...make it a great one! Feel free to make comments and remember your suggestions are always welcome.
This site has many helpful features, but I need your help to get everything set up. Please enter your information in Classmates Profiles. If you know of classmates that have passed away and they are not listed on the In Memory page please go to In Memory-Contact Us page and submit the info. Take a moment to check out the Missing Classmates page and help us find these folks. Right now the Missing Classmates page is full, but with your help that list will go down fast! Let's see how quickly we can shrink that page and fill up the Classmates Profiles!
The 40th reunion of the DHS Class of 1970 has come and gone. Everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing old friends and catching up with each other. It was nice to see so many classmates. Friday night at Widow Browns was a great success. A few people who could not attend the Saturday night festivities joined the fun. Attendance on Sunday at Widow Browns was very small as many people had to leave to head home.
Saturday night we had a total of 49 class mates and 7 spouses and friends. Phyllis Moses honored us by attending and everyone was excited to spend time visiting with her. The Stony Hill Inn did a fantastic job with everything and our DJ, Kirk (Sound Investment) played all the old songs and lots of dancing music. We even had our own personal photographer, my friend, Elaine Lagardo of the class of 1971. There is a link to the website to see the pictures on the DHS Class website home page. She will be sending a master disc to me also. Anyone that has pictures, please send them to me via email attachment or disc. I will make a disc of all the pictures and I will get a copy to anyone wanting it.
I want to say THANK YOU to all the people who volunteered to help me, Antonette Bonacci, Shirley Moriarty, Patty Berendt, Maria Iria and Linda Bonacci.
A special THANK YOU to Lynn Hottes. We had a 50/50 drawing to obtain some start up funding for the next reunion. A total of $253.00 in tickets were sold. Lynn Hottes won the drawing, and she donated her winnings to the start up fund.
It was decided that we will have a 45th reunion and 7 people have signed up to help out on the committees. If anyone else wants to help out please contact me. All help and ideas would be appreciated. There is some interest in having the classes from 1969 and 1971 join us at the next reunion.
The total amount of money collected for the reunion was $2800.00 with $2700.30 in expenses, leaving $99.70 plus $253.00 from the 50/50 drawing. We have $352.70 in the kitty toward start up fees for the 45th reunion.
Our prayers are with Pauline Germinaro and Coach "Gus" Edwards as both are fighting cancer. We want them to know how much we love them and are thinking of them. If you would like to send them a card, their addresses are: Pauline Germinaro Cardinale 18 Hawley Road EXT Danbury CT. 06811 - Eugene "Gus" Edwards 5 Lake Drive North New Fairfield CT 06812
Last but certainly not least PLEASE GET YOUR DONATIONS INTO MIKE MARINARO for the DHS Class Website. This website is proving to be very important and helpful for our class and without our donations it will not be able to continue. Mike has put this site together for us out of his own pocket but he can not continue to pay for it. It is totally donation funded to keep it going. There is information on how to donate on the home page. Every donation will help no matter what the size.
All my best to everyone,
