Richard M. Brenner, 60, lost his valiant battle with cancer on December 24, 2012. A Brookfield resident for many years and formerly of Danbury, he delighted in cooking, playing the guitar and martial arts. He was a lifelong aficionado of cars. His travels took him all over the country as well as to Hawaii and Italy. Richard retired as a successful mortgage broker in CT and NY. Part of his success was his caring for his clients and their needs. He liked to feel useful to others. A devoted son, he once said that what made his life worthwhile was taking care of his parents in their later years. Richard received his associate's degree from Graham Junior College in Boston and his bachelor's degree from Cal State Northridge. He is predeceased by his parents, Murray and Grace Brenner of Danbury and survived by a sister, Beth Hughes of Tempe, Arizona, a sister, Jane Brenner of Danbury and girlfriend of twenty-nine years, Kristine Laine of Brookfield. Burial will be at United Jewish Center Cemetery, Brookfield at the direction of the family. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
