Alan Fredric Brink Alan Fredric Brink, age 56, of Danbury passed away at his home on Sunday, May 17th after being diagnosed with cancer only a few weeks ago. Al was born in Norwalk, son of Clinton G. Brink and the late Marie D. Brink. Al always enjoyed motorcycle and car racing. He raced Quarter Midgets from ages 7 to 14. He moved to Danbury in 1968 and graduated from Danbury High School in 1970. He was a carpenter by trade and worked in the construction industry for most of his life. He took his skills inside for a time, doing plastic fabrication at Interlab, Inc. He worked in production, then as line leader and finally as a Quality Control Inspector at Belimo Air Controls. Spending a month in Switzerland learning the manufacturing process for a new product was one of Al's great adventures. Most recently, he worked as a Construction Inspector for Special Testing Laboratories of Bethel, a job he really enjoyed because he was able to be outside. His hobbies included keeping tropical fish, radio control cars and planes, playing softball in the Sunday League at Roger's Park for Kanthal Corp, and the Bethel Businessman's League for Special Testing Labs. He enjoyed computers, was an accomplished guitarist, banjo and dobro player and a big fan of the Yankees. Alan is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Sandy; his daughter, Amanda Marie (Mandy); his brother, David and his wife, Linda, brother Kurt and his wife, Elizabeth; his sister-in-law, Sheri Brought; his father-in-law, Frank Brought and his wife, Patricia. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Church, 174 Whisconier Road, Brookfield on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 1 p.m. Alan's cremains will be interred at St. Paul's Memorial Garden immediately following the service.
