From Rob's Obituary in the Danbury News Times, Sunday, January 3, 2009:

"Robert C. Blanchette, age 37 of Dunnellon, Fla., passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla. He was born June 2, 1971 in Danbury. After graduating from Danbury High School he served in the U.S. Army. Rob experienced many adventures in life, including going to New Orleans to help clean up after hurricane Katrina. He is survived by his mother, Marlene Blanchette of Dunnellon; his father, Robert Smith of Iowa; two brothers, Marlin and Christopher Dimitrion; one sister, Melissa, and her husband, Craig Parker; nieces and nephews, C.J., Matt, Marissa, and Caylee; grandparents, Patrick and Rolande Blanchette; grandmother, Elia Firmo; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Maine. Robert will be missed and was loved by all."
