Frances Reilly (Cesarano) - Class Of 1944

RIP  1.22.2018

 

Frances Mayan Cesarano, of Dover, passed away Monday,  January 22, 2018, in Westminster Health Center, Dover. She was 91.

    Francie was born on St. Patrick’s Day , March 17, 1926, in Danville, Pennsylvania, to Edward & Veronica (Dvorovcik) Reilly. She graduated from St. Cyril Academy for girls in Danville in 1944. Following graduation she was employed as a secretary to the Director of Nurses at Danville State Hospital. About this time, many young men were returning from military service, and it was Francie’s mother who introduced her to Paul Francis Mayan, the son of a local family. They were married in August 1947, and were blessed with five daughters- Carol, Patricia, Eileen, MaryAnn, and Mary who died in infancy.

   In 1964 the family moved to Dover where Paul was employed by General Foods until his death in 1975. In 1965 Francie accepted employment with the State Division of Public Health, working 24 ½ years, before retiring in 1989.

   In 1999 she moved to Westminster Independent Living , where she met William Cesarano. They were married in July of 2000.

   Francie had lived in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware; and was fortunate to travel overseas to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Leichtenstein, Spain,  and Italy; as well as Mexico and Canada.  She had pursued an interest in historical churches and visited many on the Eastern Shore. Her other interests included reading, quilting, aerobics and most of all dancing.

   She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she participated in the Home Prayer Center program,  the Adoration Chapel, and the Senior Crusaders.

   Francie was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Reilly, who had lived in Riverside, Pennsylvania.

    Francie is survived by her husband, William Cesarano; her daughters and families; Carol & Mitch Berdinka, of Port Orchard, WA. and their sons, Nathan & Ryan; Patricia & John Schwalm, of Hartly, and their daughter & son-in-law, Pauline & Joseph Andel; Eileen Jester, of Lancaster, PA. and sons Paul & Adam, and grandson Cole; and MaryAnn & Jack Manley, of Cambridge, MD. Her beloved sister, Mary Mayan, of Dover, beloved sister-in-law, Celie Reilly, of Riverside, Pennsylvania; and many loving nieces & nephews.

    We wish to Thank the Staff Members at Westminster Health Center &  Seasons Hospice, who cared for our mother with Love & Compassion.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, January 26, 2018, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover. Burial of her cremated remains will take place in the summer, in St. Hubert Cemetery, Danville, PA.. In lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Dr., Suite 407.
