Mary Sotack Wrazen Obituary

Mary Sotack Wrazen passed to eternity Sunday at 2:27 p.m. in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Hazleton, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Belusko) Sotack, and lived most of her life in Hazleton, later in Drums and most recently at Providence Place. She was a lifetime member of the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Wrazen; her brothers, Joseph and George Sotack; and a devoted son-in-law, Tim Margraf.

Mary is survived by her children, Dr. Joseph Washko and his wife, Kimberly Besecker-Washko, Drums; Mark Washko and his wife, Jennifer Oswald-Washko, Drums; Cynthia Washko-Margraf, Medford, N.J.; grandchildren, Kathleen and Georgia Washko; Kaitlin Margraf Stephens and her husband, Kevin Stephens; Ashley Margraf and fiancé, Jason Stone, New York City; and Tyler Margraf, Philadelphia; step-granddaughters, Danille Holzmann-Itterly, Drums; Kristin Holzman and fiancé, Drew Dodler, Canadensis; three step-great-granddaughters, Mereidith Itterly and Kenzie and Dallas Dodler; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary, a fashionista, loved to shop, was always smiling, loved to dance, bake, cook, take her chance at the casino and spend time with her loving family. One of her fondest memories was her trip to Rome, when she saw the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, before his passing. She was an active participant at the Butler Twp. Senior Center.

Friends and relatives may call Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., Hazleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph.

Interment will follow in in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memories to Butler Twp. Senior Center or St. Joseph's Church would be appreciated by the family.
