Peggy Bartges (Lechner) - Class Of 1952

Mrs. Peggy Bartges Lechner, widow of Dr. James Albert Lechner, died Thursday, December 4, 2014, at the Madison Health and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Lechner was born October 22, 1932, in Danville, Pa., to the late Randall Stefan and Mary Colman Bartges. She graduated from the Bloomberg State Teachers College and went on to become an elementary school teacher. She was very artistic, a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She had a deep faith in God and was a longtime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ellicott City in Maryland.

 

She is survived by: her daughter, Carol Ruppel (Fred) of Richmond, Ky.; her sons, Mark F. Lechner of California and Roger C. Lechner of West Virginia; four grandchildren, Nancy, Emily, Eric and Rachel.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lechner was preceded in death by her brother, Randall Bartges.

A gathering of family and friends will take place 11 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2014, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Richmond, with the Rev. David Brannen of the St. Andrew Anglican church of Versailles, Ky., officiating.

Private burial will take place at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Md.
