Sheila V. Kelly, of Jenkins Twp., formerly of Pittston, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020, at ManorCare, Kingston.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late William and Rita Gibbons Parrick and was a graduate of St.Cyril Academy, Danville.

She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

Sheila enjoyed more than anything spending time with her granddaughter, Sophia. Her favorite past time was talking on the phone with family and friends and she enjoyed working the polls on many election days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Yandle, on May 5, 1980.

Surviving are her daughter, Deirdre Matys and her husband, Christopher, Jenkins Twp.; granddaughter, Sophia Claire Matys; cousin, Colleen Pretko, Kingston; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to thank ManorCare and the Pittston Ambulance and Fire Department for the care and compassion that was shown to Sheila throughout the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea, with the Rev. John Polednak officiating.

Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Duryea.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea.

Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
