Sorry to miss reunion. My first grandchild is turning one that day and I need to be at the party. Has anyone seen Walter Maruczak lately?

I'm sorry I can't make it to the reunion. I tried but it doesn't work out. I have to say the the amount of classmates reaching out just to say hi and urge me to come has really been heartwarming. And kudos to Gary Valentine for all the work and heart you've put into this event.

Yours,

Kyle

The 40th reunion was so much fun.  I was looking forward to the 50th.  Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the reunion.  Best wishes to all the graduates of 1973.  Hope to see you at the 60th

A 65 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.  While on the operating table she had a near death experience.  Seeing God, she asked "Is my time up?"

God said, "No, you have another 33 years, 2 months, and 8 days to live."

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck.  She even had someone come in and change her hair color and whiten her teeth!  Since she had so much more time to live, she figured that she might as well make the most of it.

After her last operation, she was released from the hospital.  On her way home, after being discharged from the hospital, she was run down by an ambulance just as she was crossing the road!

Arriving in front of God, she asked, "I thought you said I had another 33 years to live?  Why didn't you pull me out of the path of the ambulance?"

God replied: "I didn't recognize you"

I'm sorry I won't be attending the reunion. I planned on attending and last weekend I developed Covid. Of course I have never had it throughout the whole pandemic, but here I am with Covid. Ugh!! I hope everyone has a great time!  Miss you all.  Love Kim ❤️

Dear Lidia, thanks for the inquiry as to my whereabouts and I'm pleased to report that I'm still kicking.  As I've told Gary V., I was planning to attend the reunion, but I've been spending the last year or so helping to care for my mother who still lives in Dbn Hts. The other women in the family dictate my schedule, since I had spent the previous 40 years working out of state and/or the US.  Enjoyed viewing your family photos and a hearty  congratulations on celebrating the 1st birthday of your first grandaughter - as well as your exciting foray into winemaking!  Like many of our great fellow classmates, I've seen enough of the world and have decided to remain in MI.  Any free time I find is usually devoted to hiking in the UP with friends and remaining involved in several projects dedicated to supporting Ukraine's military during russia's invasion.

I've only stayed in touch with Byron G. and Jon V. following graduation and I know that we all agree that losing Byron and so many other classmates has been shocking - to say the least.  Seeing G. Upshur's name in this forum reminded me that I had inadvertently met one of his nephews at a local auto eng event several years ago.  He wanted to learn more about his uncle's 'antics' during his HS years, so I had to lie by portraying Greg as 'just another great student'.  I KNOW he never believed a word of it...

Kudos to Gary Valentine and all of the others who have organized this Sat's reunion!!  I wish I could join you, but certainly look forward to viewing all of the photos.  Wishing EVERYONE a great time and the very best of holidays!!

I so wish I could be joining you at our reunion.  Unfortunately, some health issues (which are nearly resolved) prevent it.  I hope Berwyn, is well represented as there were a bunch of us from the "Class of 73," on our street, Hope, Keith, Marci, Jeanne,Gerald and me. One memory from 7th grade.  Do you remember study hall? On our first day back in September 1967, they paraded us into the auditorium without a plan. To say we were rambunctious is a profound understatement of the word. We were louder than when the "Rationals," a rock band,  came to play for us and give an anti-drug message, something about LSD frying our brains. Anyway, I hope the staff at Fords Garage has to keep asking you "Rebels" to keep it down because you're having so much fun.

Great Reunion!   Thank you to all involved in making it happen.

Gary relating his experience in reaching out to some of the classmates to attend was great.     A few just need friendly persistent encouragement.

I just want to thank everyone for the card.  Seeing all your names brought back some amazing memories!  Although I could not be there it helped make me feel a part of the festivities.  Each day I get closer and closer to being my old self again, and your thoughtfulness helps in a big way.

Want a Rock n Roll musical treat? Check out this guy on YouTube! His channel is MyTwangyGuitar. Find the video titled "Ridin' My Harley". I think you'll appreciate it! I wish I could find it on iTunes because I'd definitely download it! Clean guitar! Best wishes Class of '73!

How many can say that they rode a 10' jonboat across a remote section of the Rio Grande into Mexico and back? Come on, I know what you're thinking! Well anyone actually can, legally, in Big Bend National Park in Texas! My wife and I did it in 2018. You can even swim across if you'd like! There is a remote crossing (I mean you're in the boonies!) where you can cross over and ride a burro into the small hamlet of Bouquillas, MX. They treat you very well, the food is fantastic and you get a great idea of what rural life in a Mexican town is like. They are indeed remote and bring their supplies in from many, many miles away. We went on the off season, but the people make their money from tourists that come over from the National Park. And it's extremely reasonable for dinner, about what you'd pay for a dinner in most American restaurants. And the food was great! Of course you need a passport just like any other border crossing. As a world traveler I never once felt uncomfortable or in any distress there. The people are very accommodating. I would bring small bills (American cash is king and they accept no credit cards) for services and tips. If you wish to spend the night it's cheap. We didn't, but you can get a comfortable room for $10 per person a night with a Continental breakfast. I'd highly recommend it! You must stop at the Border Patrol office first and then take a pathway down to the river. You will visit the Mexican Border Patrol office when you get into town. Your guide will take you for check in.

So, since I attended my first 9 years of schooling in the Crestwood School District before switching for 9-12th grade at Riverside, that really does make me a Rebel!!! Or a spy! 🤣

Jim Baldwin: My wife and I took that same exact excursion across the Rio Grande in April of 2018, while on a birding outing to Big Bend. We were told we also had the option of wading (the river was never more than a couple of feet deep), but chose to hire a local to row us across. We spent an enchanting afternoon there before returning to our nearby campsite at the National Park, then moved our camper the next morning to the cooler environs of the Chisos Mountains Campground of Big Bend N.P., in search of the elusive Colima Warbler. (BBNP is a birders' paradise because of its "sky islands" -- geological zones on top of isolated mountains separated by desert expanses where birds can hop from mountain top habitat to mountaintop habitat, but most predators can't make that leap. The Chisos Mountains is the only place in Amerca where the Colima Warbler can be found.) We had a wonderful stay before returning to Michigan via Guadalupe Mountains, Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands, and the Great Sand Dunes.
