John was brilliant! With our names both starting with "M" we were in many classes together which gave me a chance to talk with him and get to know him better. I always liked him. He had the misfortune of having me as a lab partner in Chemistry...bless his heart. He even came over to my house one time to see if he could help me understand it better. I would get so nervous in class and broke so many test tubes...he was very patient. I have to chuckle when I read in my senior yearbook where he wrote, "To my favorite, destructive lab partner."
John's mother and my mother were friends. John and I went to the University of Cincinnati together and both studied Electrical Engineering. In the mid 1970's I went to Monmouth NJ to interview for a job at a computer company where Bill Sweet from Defiance worked. While waiting in the lobby I saw John working on a computer behind a glass window. I spoke to him and he seemed happy and was enjoying his job working on computer operating systems. I did not take the job and that was the last time I saw John. He was a very smart and and had a good sense of humor when you got to know him.

Rode the bus with John and hung out at his house across the ravine. I liked him.
