Survived By: Survived By: LaKisha Gentry is survived by her mother, Catherine Snell; father, Clint Gentry; brothers, Dawon Gentry and Anthony Snell; aunts, Monica Snell, Angie Holland and Pam Snell; and cousins, Jammell, Chanel, Millenia, Courtney, Breia, Tawanna, Michael and Marcus.

She was always real nice and got along with everyone. It was Gentry's third year of track and field. She was a Sun Belt Conference champion in javelin and won third place for in shot put during indoor and outdoor seasons. She was also one of the eight NT athletes who qualified for the NCAA Regional in 2003. In 2002, Gentry was awarded third place for javelin during outdoor season and second place for shot put during the indoor season, also in the Sun Belt conference. "LaKisha was outgoing and a natural-born athlete who do anything," Deidra Wesley, Sherman junior, said. "It was like her third time ever to throw a javelin and LaKisha takes maybe two steps and throws it over 100 feet."
