Dr. Douglas R. Beechel, age 66, of Cotter, Arkansas, died Sunday, April 22, 2007. He was born July 21, 1940, in Sterling, Illinois, to Darrell and Esther Johnson Beechel. On June 23, 2001, he married Sharon L. Beesley in Cotter.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Dr. Beechel was also a retired dentist. Survivors are a son: Scott D. Beechel and wife Susie of Fort Worth, Texas; 2 daughters: Deborah (Kisch) Odland and husband Tom of St. Paul Minnesota; and Kristen Cooper and husband Chris of Lenexa, Kansas; 2 step-daughters: Vicki Owens Cowling and husband Mark of Round Rock, Texas; and Stacy Owens Bohannan and husband Jim of Springdale, Arkansas; father: Darrell Beechel of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and 1 sister: Delores McRae and husband Paul of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Sharon L. Beechel, age 67, of Cotter, died Sunday, April 22, 2007. She was born August 17, 1939, in Southgate, California, to Martin Luther and Elizabeth Metz Edwards. Mrs. Beechel was the owner of Headliner Salon in Mountain Home. Survivors are her mother: Elizabeth Edwards of Mountain Home; daughters: Vicki Owens Cowling and husband Mark of Round Rock, Texas; and Stacy Owens Bohannan and husband Jim of Springdale, Arkansas; stepchildren Deborah Odland and husband Tom of St. Paul, Minnesota; Kristen Cooper and husband Chris of Lenexa, Kansas; and Scott D. Beechel and wife Susie of Fort Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister: Carolyn Sue Rowbothan.

Their grandchildren are: Lauren and Morgan Cowling of Round Rock, Texas; Kailee Bohannan of Springdale, Arkansas; Derek Whitehouse of West Point, New York; Timothy Stockburger of Fayetteville, Ark.; Patrick Bohannan of Springdale Arkansas; Katie and Allie Kisch; Kristina and Maria Odland of St. Paul, Minnesota; Guthrie and Wyeth Cooper of Lenexa, Kansas; Sarah, Emily, Anna and Faith Beechel of Fort Worth, Texas; and 2 great-grandsons: Cain and Christian Stockburger of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

A memorial service for Dr. and Mrs. Beechel will be at their home, 426 Valley Airport Drive, Cotter, Arkansas, at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 28, 2007, with Pastor David Mattson and Bishop Ray Postelwait officiating. A celebration of Dr. and Mrs. Beechel's lives will follow. Interment will be private.
