Annette Colby, 62, died Thursday September 4, 2003 of respitory familure at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 8 at Hamilton's near Highlad Memory Gardens, Des Moines.
Annette was born in Phoenix, Arizona. She wa a director of Extension Education for Drake University and was an avid reader of quality literature. She had the nature of one who could change any situation into something positive. Annette will be missed by her family and friends who will cherish her memory, her compassion and her great sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Sanford of Des Moines; sons, Guy King and Pat King, both of Des Moines; daughter Teri Hanks and husband, Bret of Mingo; brother, Jim Colby and wife Brenda of Ankeny; two grandchildren, Meghann and Katelyn; one great-grand-child, Colton ahd her cat Charlie.
Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Family Violence Center, Des Moines.
