James Melvin Greer passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Kavanagh House on

56th Street. Funeral services will held 1 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2008 at Westover Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens.

Jim was born February 27, 1940 the son of Billy Byron and Agnes J. Ahlberg Greer. He graduated from East High School and attended Drake University.

Jim was an insurance salesman for over 30 years at Central Life Company. He enjoyed golfing.

Jim is survived by his companion Diane Mollman of West Des Moines; his mother, Agnes Greer of Des Moines; and his sisters, Monna Greer of Des Moines, Diane Boghner- Rudge of Ankeny, Julie Marker of Des Moines and Janice Hoffman of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Greer.

Family will received friends at Westover Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2008. Memorial contributions may be made to the Variety Club of Iowa or the Animal Rescue League.
