Herbert Boyd Murphy

Herbert Boyd Murphy, 75, of Conover passed away on January 26, 2016 at his residence. 

Born March 29, 1940 in Oceola, IA, he was the son of the late Charles Howard Murphy and Virginia Mae Downey. Herbert was a member of Christ Church in Hickory.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connell "Connie" Murphy.

Herbert is survived by a sons, Scott Murphy and wife, Marsha, and Steven Murphy and wife, Lisa; daughter, Shannon Murphy Hefner; brother, Ed Murphy and wife, Dixie; brother-in-law, Danny Crawford and wife, Ellen; grandchildren, Austin Murphy, Jackson Murphy, Kasey Smith, Donovan Murphy, Riley Jo Murphy, Aidan Hefner, Addison Hefner; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Christ Church, Fairgrove Campus.
