Marsha Smalley Resident of San Ramon, Ca On September 10, 2011, Marsha Smalley, passed away at her vacation home on Lake Almanor, California. Marsha was born in Chariton, Iowa, to the late Ernest and Helen Roberts, and graduated in 1958 from East High School in Des Moines, Iowa. During her college years, she met and married her husband, Stanley Smalley. After living several years in Japan, Utah and Michigan, they settled in Riverton, Wyoming, to raise their growing family in 1973. During her years in Wyoming, Marsha worked for the Wyoming Arts Alliance, and owned a small art gallery, as well as a Ballet Studio. In 1986, Marsha and her family moved to San Ramon, California. Her passion for arts and education led her to host numerous foreign exchange students, and conduct charity work through the Rotary Club of San Ramon for the last 24 years. Marsha is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Stan, her three daughters, Kimberly, Kristen, and Ashley, her treasured grandchildren, Nick, Michael, David, Melissa, Anthony, Cameron and Kennedy, her brothers, Mike and Tim, and countless faithful friends. Family and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 1:30 pm 4:00 pm at the Crow Canyon Country Club, 711 Silver Lake Drive, Danville, CA 94526. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to, The Rotary Foundation, 14280 Collections Center Drive, Chicago, IL 60693, so her desire to help others can continue.
