Patricia “Patty” Fisher, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her three children on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at her home in Des Moines.

Patty was born April 26, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Francis and Dorothy (Meyers) Warren. She married William Fisher on December 23, 1960. Patty was a warm and outgoing person. The loves of her life were her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her animals. Patty was an avid reader and enjoyed doing ceramics, shopping, and sewing. She also liked spending time at the senior center and gardening. Patty was a natural caregiver and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She unfailingly put the needs of others before herself. Patty was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and loved her church family like her own. 

Patty is survived by her children, Lorie (Alan) Hancock, Debbie (Scott) Thomsen, and William Fisher; grandchildren, Sonia Roberts, Shannon (Erin) Green, Adam (Jenny) Fisher, Andrew Hancock, and Joseph Hancock; great-grandchildren, Parker, Gage, Karson, and Finn Roberts, Easton “Charlie P.” and Raegan Green, and Adrienn and Autumn Fisher.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Bill Fisher.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2017, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the church.
