Janet L. Evans, 63 of Pleasant Hill died of a respitory ailment Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, of which she was a member, with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
Mrs. Evans was born in Des Moines and had lived here until moving to Pleasant Hill in 1968. She was retired from the American National Can Co. finishing department and enjoyed yardwork, bingo and attending family sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, a daughter Judi Michael, and two sons, Jerry and Jay, all of pleasant Hill; a sister Jackie Carlson of Des Moines; three brothrs, Jim Fitzgibbons and John Fitzgibbons, both of Des Moines and Chuck Fitzgibbons of Idaho; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Grandview Park Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. and where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association.
