Doris Jean (Fisher) Anderson age 76, of Bowstring Minn., formerly from Des Moines Iowa, passed away in Duluth, Minnesota Wednesday, January 27, 2016 of heart failure. Doris was surrounded by love as she passed.

Doris was born December 4, 1939 in Des Moines Iowa. She was the second of 10 children born to Albert and Mary (Meister) Fisher. She graduated from East High School in 1958. She married Gerald Anderson in October 1958. Doris had a long career caring for numerous people as a nursing assistant. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, picking berries, and making Christmas wreaths. Doris worked tirelessly caring for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Deloris (Fisher) Fassler, and brother in law Alfred Anderson.

Doris is survived by her husband Gerald; a daughter, Tina (Adam) Makela of Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren Coby, Andre, and Maisey Makela; brothers Clifford (Jackie) Fisher of Des Moines, Iowa, and Phillip (Melinda) Fisher of Ankeny, Iowa; sisters Judy (Bob) Berger of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Janette (John) Owen of Elkhart, Iowa, Sharon (Ron) Berger of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Lucy Mabis of Earlham, Iowa, Karon Green and Deborah (Kurt) Hagrman of Ankeny, Iowa; sister in law Mary Anderson of Bovey, Minnesota; nephew Ed (Lynn) Anderson of Bovey, Minnesota; niece Tressa (Kyle) Vrieze of Bermuda; and many other nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

Doris was cremated and will be buried on a beautiful day this summer in Des Moines Iowa.
