Sandra (Sandy) Anne Liepins of Saint Paul, MN passed on February 19, 2023, at the age of 83. The same day of her late husband, Andris (Andy) Liepins' birthday. Sandy was born on February 1, 1940, in Lake City, Iowa. She lived in Iowa until she moved with her family to MN, where she lived majority of her life. Sandy worked as an administrative assistant and eventually found she enjoyed being an office manager of a local insurance company until she retired at age 62.

Sandy and Andy retired in 2002 and moved to their dream home in McGregor on Big Sandy Lake. Sandy and Andy were active in their church Grace Lutheran Church, McGregor, MN, American Legion Ancillary Club, Up North Riders ATV Club of Aiken County, MN, Angels of McGregor, and McGregor Clothing Closet. Their kids referred their clubs and activities as a ‘senior cult’ as they were constantly out and about. They made many friends and enjoyed almost twenty years on the lake. They also remained connected to many friends from the Twin Cities area including friends from Plymouth, MN.

Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Andris Liepins; her parents, William F. Hebrew and Virginia Hebrew; sister, Nancy Wolf. She is survived by five children, Mark Liepins, Douglas Liepins, Lisa (Erik) Moe, William (Pam) Plummer, Sandra (Tony) Dischinger; ten grandchildren, Aleksandrs (Regina) Liepins, Catherine (Mykhaylo) Panchishak, Tanya (Ben) Johnson, Alec Moe, Miranda Liepins, Tatum, Kaitlynn, Harley and Jeremy Plummer, Leia Dischinger; four great-grandchildren, Oak and Lev Panchishak, Kendra Liepins, Layla Johnson; sister and brother-in-law, Bette (Michael) Murray; brother-in-law, Richard Wolf; nephews, Jay (Nancy) Murray, Von (Shanna) Wolf; niece, Virginia (Lynell) Davis; as well as many lifelong friends from Iowa and MN.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Wellington and The Alton Memory Care, Our Lady of Peace, Blue Stone and special caregiver, Brenda Bergson, for their care and compassion for Sandy.

Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 16 at 4 pm at Faith Lutheran Church, 800 Waconia Parkway, Waconia, MN. On May 27, 2023, the family will be hosting a life celebration for Andy and Sandy in McGregor, MN at Big Sandy Lodge.
