Julie, the daughter of Donald and Louise (Doyle) Bequeaith, was born on February 26, 1940 in Des Moines.  She graduated from East High School and from AIB. Julie was a life long Jehovah Witness. She was united in marriage with John H. Neef on June 10, 1967 in Des Moines. They made their home in Newton.  Julie enjoyed decorating her home, horseback riding, taking pictures, and feeding birds. She also liked animals and flowers.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Julie is survived by her children, Kevin (Tanya) Neef of Hiawatha, Jennifer (Franz) Patterson of Newton, and Jerry (Sue) Neef of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Mackenzie Neef, Natasha Neef, and Keesha (Cody) Behrens; and great-grandchildren, Mavis, Amanda, John, Phoenix, and Sawyer.   She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John H. Neef.
