At this time, I would like to thank my children, my family, friends and business family for the blessed life they have afforded me.

Sam was born to Edith Arlene Breton on April 20, 1940 and, with considerable help from Grandma Breton, was raised to age 8 before Arlene married Jack W Reese in 1948. Sam attended East High School, graduating in Class of '58.

Senior year, he met Annie Laurie Chenoweth (St. Joseph Academy). Sam graduated June 5th. He and Annie eloped June 7th. That marriage conceived 3 children: Michelle Rae (James) Jaeger, Sherry Ann (John) Quinn, Colin Gregory (Teri Lynn) Reese.

After 7 single years, Sam married Kara L Kosek. (1988-2008) That marriage conceived Talia Sophia Reese.

Grandchildren: Madeline, Claire, Bailey Jaeger; Michael, Tyler, Cameron Quinn; Gabriella, Isabella, and Maxwell Reese.

After barbering at Uptown Barber Stylists for 62 years, Sam retired September 1, 2021… He continued to offer service to his faithful clients at his home on Grand Avenue.

Remember: It is not your monetary wealth that matters in the end, but how many lives you touched on your journey.

A Catholic mass will be held for Sam on September 27, 2021 at 3:00pm at Saint Anthony's Church on 15 Indianola Road, Des Moines, IA 50315. We will continue the celebration at location to TBA.

Yes, that's a Monday, Sam's day off. We knew he would not want to miss any work.
