Sandra Reynolds Ellgaard, 82, of Metairie, LA passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2023. Sandra was born to Violet and Guy Reynolds of Des Moines, IA, on August 3, 1940.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 37 years, Dr Erik G. Ellgaard; and older sister, Virginia Wilson, (Jim) of Des Moines, IA.

Sandra and Erik had three children: Egon Ellgaard, Metairie, LA, Annemarie Ellgaard (David Bryan) Plymouth, MN, and Sara Blomkalns (Paul) Mandeville, LA. Sandra is survived by her children, and grandchildren: Kirsten and Erika Bryan; Erik and Blake Blomkalns. Sandra delighted in watching her grandchildren in the gym and ball field and celebrated in all of their accomplishments.

Sandra and her family spent their summers at the Ellgaard lake property on Half Moon Lake in Wisconsin, a source of great fun for the many generations. Sandra was a nurse and provided care at Lakeside Hospital for more than 20 years before her retirement. 

Sandra is survived by her sister Ann Marie Baldner (Clair) of Dallas Center, IA, and brother, Steven Reynolds (Jackie) of Wannaska, Minnesota and sister-in-law, Ellen Paulsen of Des Moines, IA and many nieces and nephews.
