Greetings Fellow GCC Classmates,

By choice or by accident you have come across the Home Page for the Girls Catholic Central High School Class of '62 website. This site contains both historical and current information for the use of this very dynamic group of women. At one point in time, during the late ‘50s and early ‘60s, we shared a unique educational experience and many common life issues as we struggled to figure out who we were and how we might ultimately fit into the world we were just beginning to understand. A handsome young charismatic Catholic was the leader of the free world, Detroit was a vibrant and promising city, and we were encouraged to hope and dream. Since then we have occasionally gathered as a group to check our progress.We have class members spread out all over the country and representatives of numerous professions and vocations. Many are now making decisions on retirement and considering plans for the next interesting chapter in their lives. We hope you find the site both interesting and useful. If you are a classmate, we encourage you to stay in touch. It is the ongoing contact that keeps us bonded as a group, and the site interesting, even if only for the sake of nostalgia, which we tend to enjoy more with the inevitable passage of time. Hopefully the experience of visiting this site will be a pleasant one, taking you back to your coming-of-age years and the friends and acquaintances who shared those years with you.

As you know, we're about to reach the incredible milestone of 50 years since our June 10, 1962 graduation! We are currently in the process of planning and organizing our reunion for June, 2012. Initial surveys have already been sent out and a Reunion Committee is being formed to ensure a fabulous event worthy of the momentous occasion! This will be a treasured gathering and a good opportunity for us to renew old friendships and reminisce and revisit fond memories. Fellow classmates are the real treasures and each one is filled with recollections and a lifetime of experiences they can share. This will be a great time to celebrate what Girls Catholic Central meant to you and how those years impacted your life.

We are still researching locations, and are open to suggestions. And we encourage you to pass the word along to any other class of ‘62 women you are in contact with. So stay tuned as further details develop. Additional information will be forthcoming, as well as replies to everyone who responds.
