Walter A Stoll--Class of 1960

He finished his time here on August 28 ,2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan Mehlhose Stoll. Also his sisters, Elaine Bess and Janet Hellmer both of Ohio. Predeceased by his brother Art of CA and sister Beverly Pircer of MI. He graduated from the University of Michigan to begin his career as an industrial engineer. Along with Michigan he worked in Ohio and Texas. He and his wife happily hosted exchange students from France, Mexico and China. These students became family and remained an integral part of their lives. Walt and Sue often visited them in their countries. And they in turn frequently return for a visit to their USA home. Walter sang with the Grosse Ile Presbyterian Chorale with whom he traveled internationally. His deep, rich voice was heard singing also with the Seaway Chorale and Seraphim Barbershop Group. Walter was an avid and frustrated golfer in many states. Domestic and foreign travel was another of his enjoyments. Always ready with a packed suitcase. Walter is survived by 24 nephews and nieces along with numerous grand nieces and nephews. His love of sweets, sports and” corny” humor made for rich and rewarding life. Walter will always be a central focus to his family and numerous friends.

There will be a memorial celebration at a future date.
