Thomas Gerald McGee (Pastor Emeritus) 79 of Yulee, Florida, formerly of Woodford, Virginia, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and children. Born in Highland Park, Michigan he went to work for the family electrical business. After years of work with the family business and turning his life to Christ in 1970, he went on to and graduated with a degree in Pastoral Studies. He went on to start churches in both New Jersey and 2 in Virginia. His last church in Woodford (Ambassador Baptist) he pastored for more than 27 years. His work continued even into retirement when he moved to Florida, assisting in several local churches.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Willie Ora McGee; his sister, Doris Anne Gardner and his wife of 46 years, Rozanne P. McGee. Survivors include his wife, Judith (Judy) Burnett McGee; his children, Roxanne Burton (Michael), Thomas G. McGee II (Charlene) and Pastor Michael McGee (Meredith), Timothy Kilpatrick (Julie), Jason Kilpatrick (Diane); his grandchildren, Thomas G. McGee II(Joy) I, Nicole Yansky, Daniel McGee (Nicole); Matthew Burton (Kelly), Ruthanne Cooke (Blake), Miciah Burton, Nathan Burton (Brooke); Katie Henderson (Matthew), Mollie, Joel, Adam, Amelia, and Harrison McGee; Matthew & Andrew Kilpatrick. Great grandchildren included Isabella and Angelina, Cali, Elizabeth, Christopher, Peyton, Collin, Lydia, Emmalynn, Elijah, Axell, and Alora .
The family will receive friends at Ambassador Baptist Church (11434 Fredericksburg Turnpike, Woodford VA 22580) on Monday, February 7th from 6:00 – 8:00pm. A funeral service will follow at the church on Tuesday, February 8th at 2:00pm, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bowling Green. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ambassador Baptist Church or Community Hospice and Palliative Care of Jacksonville, Florida.
