After Marilyn passed away in 2018, I moved to Fox Run (an Erickson senior community in Novi, Michigan). This active community of more than 1200 residents motivated me to "unretire". I now chair the Arts, Dining and Travel Committee that sponsors off-campus trips for residents and am the publicity director of the Entertainment Committee that sponsors monthly programs in the Fox Run Performing Arts Center. I also formed a "morning music club" and have been sending daily music videos to the 60 members of this club since March 2020. I sang with the Langsford Men's Chorus from 2008-2019. The chorus is named after Harry Langsford, the director of the Wayne State University Men's Glee Club.

My professional career was spent at the University of Detroit. I began in 1964 as the Director of Debate and Forensics, became the chairman of the Communication Studies in 1973 and was appointed the Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts in 1983. I returned to the faculty in 1999 and retired from the University in 2009. I called this my "45-and-out" experience.

I still sing in retirement as a member of the Langsford Men's Chorus.
