Kranick, Larry E. 7/21/1938 - 1/8/2016 Chelsea Larry Edwin Kranick, 77, of Chelsea, MI passed away Friday, January 8, 2016. Born July 21, 1938 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Harriet Kranick and was the husband of Irene H. Kranick for fifty-four years. Mr. Kranick was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He had a long career as a civil/structural engineer. He loved fishing, golfing, traveling and spending time with his family and many friends. Mr. Kranick was a long time member of St. Mary Church as well as a 30-year member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a former Grand Knight; a member of the Fourth Degree and a Guanellian Cooperative. In addition to his wife, Mr. Kranick is survived by his children Debbie Johnson (AJ) of Belleville, MI, Michele Hughes (Greg) of Maybee, MI, and Mark Kranick (Melinda) of Belleville, MI; his siblings, Donald Kranick (Gloria) of Lapeer, MI and Darlene Krieg (Ron) of Indian River, MI; his grandchildren Shawn Kranick (Emily), Ashley Doletzky, Leigh-Anne Russell, Nicole Curry (Zac), Brandy Flaws (Bryan) as well as several "very special" grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, January 11. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 12 at 11:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea with the V. Rev. William J. Canon Turner officiating. There will be a 1-hour viewing at the church prior to service.
