Ross Deboskey

As per Charles B. Greene: All-City Center, Ross Deboskey and three of his Mackenzie teammates were physically attacked, following their January 1954 varsity basketball game, at Central High School. The violent assault made national headlines; nighttime athletic events were subsequently banned by the Detroit Public Secondary Schools Athletic League (DPSSAL). Deboskey was seriously injured and nearly died from his wounds. Following his recovery, Deboskey attended the University of Michigan. In the years that followed college, Deboskey became a successful doctor of psychiatry; he later moved to California, where he had a long and accomplished career. Ross Debosky died of natural causes.
