Ralph L. Frederick

Ralph L. Frederick, of Rochester Hills, Michigan. Born on October 9, 1937, deceased March 4, 2023.
Ralph was born and raised in Detroit where he graduated from Mackenzie High School. In 1959, he earned a bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Michigan where he became a lifelong fan of Michigan football (Go Blue!) and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.
The majority of Ralph’s professional career was spent with General Motors where he made significant contributions to the company’s personnel management and training organization, specializing in corporate leadership training. Ralph continued his education while he was with General Motors earning his master’s degree in business administration from Michigan State University.
In 1966, Ralph married Joan (Hackenberger) Frederick. They settled in Warren, Michigan and had two children, Scott (1968) and Susan (1971). Joan died of complications associated with cancer in 1989.
In 1991, Ralph married Polly Hofmeister. Ralph and Polly spent more than 30 years together. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family at their home in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Polly, and a large extended family including his children, Scott and Susan; their partners, Jennifer and Vince Smith respectively; grandchildren, Ryan and Ian; nieces, Kate Paul and Nancy Powell; Polly’s children, Todd and Stacie; their partners, Andrea and Stephan Hoffman
respectively; and Polly’s grandchildren, Benjamin, Sophia, and Melina.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 20 at Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester from 11:00 AM EST – 2:00 PM EST. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 PM EST and will be followed by a luncheon at First Baptist Church of Rochester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared
