Went to RETS for a year, then into the NAVY

Well the things i remember most, are ROTC Drill Team--football games-- my locker partners, Tom Llewellyn and Pat Kelly. My prom date Peggy Oakes, she sure was pretty, after prom we went to Canada for dinner. I remember the cruise on the SS SOUTH AMERICA to MACKINAC ISLAND. I remember the same great friends, all the way from Noble-Tappan-to MACKENZIE. Back then we all came up together, so most of us new a lot of the kids from the get go. Ya Know, my Gramdma always said Write every thing down, because when you get older, you'll need to look back. Boy was she right.

Went to Great Lakes Boot Camp. From there to Jacksonville Fl. for nine months waiting for school in Memphis. After that on to San Digeo, where i joined up with Fighter Squadron VF 191 SATENS KITTENS at Maramar. Our Air Wing was on the BONNE HOMME RICHARD-CVA 31. ON the first cruise we went to HAWAII-then onto the PHILIPPINES-then JAPAN- then onto HONG KONG. Then back to sea, and back to the PHILIPPINES. Back to sea where once the last mail plane was gone, they told us we were going into the INDIAN OCEAN. On the 8TH of APR 64 we crossed the EQUATOR an my shipmates an i became SHELLBACKES. We went to MADAGASCAR-MOMBAA-KENYA-ADEN- Put a air show on for the SHAH of IRAN. Then back to JAPAN----then onto VETNAM. That was the 64 cruise. 65 was all about VETNAM. Came home at the start of 66, and got out. GO NAVY. After that drove a truck for FARMER JACKS for 34 years REtired 2002
