Suzanne L. Hart, 79, of Black Mountain, North Carolina passed away on April 29, 2020. Mrs. Hart was born, lived and raised a family in and around Detroit, Michigan. She and husband Robert Hart later relocated for several years to Safety Harbor, Florida before settling in their lovingly restored log cabin in Black Mountain. Mrs. Hart was a lover and grower of all things green, leafy and flowering. She had a skilled eye for antiques and spent countless hours over the years restoring them to their original beauty. She had an affinity for the warmth and water of Florida and was intrigued by the natural beauty in Black Mountain – although she had a love/hate/scared/”they keep knocking over my birdfeeders” relationship with the bears. And she loved and missed Robert, who died in 2001. In addition to her late husband, Mrs. Hart is preceded in death by her parents Lenore and Allan Warren, her brother, Robert Warren and her stepson, Chris Hart. She leaves behind sisters, Linda (Roger) Marks, Lee Anne (Robert) Treloar and stepchildren Kathleen, Karen, Coleen and Tim. Mrs. Hart was loving Aunt to nine nieces and nephews, Great Aunt Sue to 12 nieces and nephews and a Grandmother to four. In the words of her great nephew Lucas, age five, “She may be in heaven now but she will always be in our hearts.” Mrs. Hart was buried in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain on May 6. At her request there was no memorial service. Those desiring to make a memorial donation are encouraged to consider the McCune Assisted & Independent Living Community, where Mrs. Hart had recently moved. Donations will enhance the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of McCune residents, with independence, freedom of choice and dignity.
