Obituary for Donald R. Nash

NASH, Donald, R., April 22, 2021 Age 79. Beloved husband of Angela (nee Pizzimenti). Loving father of Maria (Mike) Torres and Joseph Nash. Dear brother of Jamie (the late George) Des Jardins. Don graduated Summa Cum Laude from U-D Mercy where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement and Industrial Security. His dedicated Law Enforcement career spanned over 47 years, serving 27 of those years with the Detroit Police Department and 20 years with the Campus Police at Macomb Community College.
Don loved all sports, particularly football which he played for many years. He was an avid golfer, history buff, and loved his weekly lunch dates with his retired buddies. He was a constant in everyone’s life, the guy you could depend on, the guy who never said no to anyone
But most of all, Don was a family man who always put his family first. He was a kind, calm, gentle soul who always had a kind word to say about everyone. He lived every day by the Golden Rule and treated everyone with kindness and respect. He was a model gentleman.

OMG ~~ I was so sorry to learn about Don's passing. Don was in many of my classes and we played football together as well. I always found him to be a stand up kinda guy. Seemed to be content and very pleasant all the time. His family, friends and community will be at a great loss.  R I P my friend.  Roger Fraser    Class of Feb. (1960)
