Gloria Gammon Tibbs, 77, of Joliet, IL passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 peacefully at her home with her family at her side after a year-long battle with lung cancer.

Preceded in death by her parents, Otha and Pauline (nee Hawkins) Gammon of Decatur; her husband, Roger Tibbs; her sister, Betty (nee Gammon) Pilkington of Arizona; and her son in-law, Jeff Hayden of Northbrook.

She is survived by her loving sister, Karen (John) Johns of Charlotte, NC; her three children, Stacy Hayden of Wheeling, Dan (Lory) Stefanich of Minnesota, Lynn (nee Stefanich) Bigelow of Joliet; six grandchildren, Matthew Hayden, Logan Stefanich, Sarah Hayden, Kyle Stefanich, Nathan Stefanich, and Rachel Stefanich; and nephews, John Johns of Oregon, Robb Pilkington of Arizona; and a niece, Amy Pilkington of California.

Born in Decatur, IL, Gloria went on to graduate from Michigan State University with honors earning degrees in both advertising and education. She moved to Joliet where married her first husband, Martin J. Stefanich and worked at the Boston Store. In 1979, she founded AdVenture Advertising, which later became known as The Gammon Group, serving the Joliet/Chicago area for more than 30 years. Gloria was President/CEO until her son Dan took over the business in 1999.

Gloria was an active member of Assembly of God Church in Joliet, where she met and married her second husband and soul-mate, Roger Tibbs in 1990. Gloria loved the Lord and dedicated her retirement years to spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services for Gloria will be held at First Assembly of God Church, 1741 Essington Road Joliet, IL on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 am. Visitation at the First Assembly of God Church on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday morning from 10:00 am until time of service. Inurnment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur, IL at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or a charity of your choice in honor of Gloria.
