James (Jim) Carey

Jim Carey (class of 1962) of South Lyon, MI passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the age of 70.

He was a long time South Lyon resident and local business owner, he was a CPA for over 30 years. Jim absolutely loved music, he started playing the drums at the age of 14.

Although he was private about it, he served our nation in the Army during Vietnam.

Hardwork, honesty, integrity and humor were values he lived by.

He is survived by his wife Camille, his daughters Mandy (Reed) Heitman and Christy Cody as well as 5 adorable grandchildren: Logan (9), Emerson (7), Mackenzie (6), Grayson (5) and Lawson (4 months). Also survived by his brothers: Ed Carey and Tom (Sheila) Carey as well as his "adopted brother" John (Jeanette) Gulbernat. Jim is preceded in death by his parents Ann and Joseph Carey and sister Dolly Basharrah.

I saw Jim a few years ago at the Nankin Mills PicNic with his old car and had a nice conversation with him.  So sorry to hear of his passing.  Sorry for you loss Camille.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.
