John was born September 12, 1938, in Detroit, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Max and Charlotte (Wilsenack) Waldner. John proudly served his country in the United States Army for a year, followed by his continued dedication as a member of the Army Reserves. In addition, John attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree, and furthered his education at Wayne State University; receiving his Master’s Degree. Following his schooling, John devoted much of his professional life to a career as a business manager, predominantly with the Dearborn Public School System, where he worked for over twenty years until his retirement. John was a devoted member of the Mt. Hope Congregational Church in Livonia for many years and cherished the friendships he made there.

In his free time, John could always be found putzing around; be it doing yardwork, or fixing things around the house, he liked to stay busy! Over the years, John was a member of the Dearborn Rotary Club, and during his time there he acted as the treasurer. He was also a member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed watching the stock market and reading the Wall Street Journal. But most of all, John cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, who he loved dearly. Some of his fondest memories were made cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Charlotte.

In accordance with John’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Gathering will take place at 12:30 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Mt. Hope Congregational Church, 30330 Schoolcraft Road, Livonia, Michigan 48150, with a luncheon to follow.
