I didn't know Reginald very well but I remember him because we had one class we shared in the 10th grade.
Reginald left an impression on me for several reasons:
He was a 4.0 GPA student in his freshman and junior year and he was a very quiet, shy young man. However, sometime during his senior year (78) he began to dress like a gang member and began hanging around the wrong people.
Shortly after graduation I read about him in the Detroit News in 78 or 79 (not sure which)
I remember reading that Reginald Buffington was found murdered in his basement. He had been tied up, bludgeoned and shot and authorities assumed it was gang related. I don't know if anyone was ever charged with his murder and it's yet another sad story about a young man who we all wish could have had a better life.
