Steve was a good friend of mine who I last saw in January of 1981. We grew up in the same neighborhood and worked together at the McDonalds on McNichols near Mt Elliot until I graduated from Osborn.
Steve was in ROTC until he graduated from Osborn 1979. He was also an excellent musician and he played the bass guitar.
We both trained dogs and we would both DJ at a Club on Conant and McNichols. In the summer of 1981 I received a call from his girlfriend and she told me that Steve had been murdered at the same Club.
The girlfriend's account was that Steve had gone to pick up his DJ equipment and someone had taken it. Steve was upset and at some point he was shot several times inside the club.
Steve's girlfriend explained that the Detroit Police found him outside in the parking lot and that they never found any witnesses.
He was a good friend. If anyone has more information, please share.
