The Prior family were lifelong friends of my family after we moved to Dunedin in 1952.  Our families did much together including scalloping in Clearwater Bay and family activities in the Methodist Church.  From the third grade on Kelly and I were classmates.  As an athlete Kelly was a quiet, humble leader in both baseball and football.  Most importanly he was a friend.

So sorry to learn of Kelly's passing. I always remember he was so kind and always had a smile for everyone.

Kelly was an all around good friend at DHS, as well as an outstanding athlete.  He and his brother, Dick, were known all over Pinellas County.  We all were fortunate to know and to share our lives in the DHS  Class of 1962.

Kelly’s family and ours always friends, played Little League baseball w/ him and Dick on the Chamber of Commerce team, Dick only one year, Kelly for 3.  Kelly was  always a quiet, stand up guy, never caused anyone any trouble and who got better and better as the years went by.  Played against him in Babe Ruth League and he became almost unhittable when he was 14, never faced him when he was 15 but would surmise, he was outstanding.  Can still see that big, sweeping wind up and you knew the heat was coming.  My recollection is he pitched for the Gators when I was a Sophomore there but never ran into him on campus.  Saw Dick a couple of times there, he tried explaining Physics theory, problem solving to me, etc., but way over my head, hence, why I’m not an engineer.  I know he became very astute in that field of endeavor.  He was always a good guy too.  Their parents were always solid folks around town.  RIP, Kelly.
